It is edited by the Torreño City Council and the cultural association Qutiyyas, and directed by the historian and official chronicler of the municipality Ricardo Montes.
On Friday, April 26, the House of Culture Pedro Serna of Las Torres de Cotillas hosted the birth of Naiades, the new magazine of customs, traditions and stories of the Region of Murcia.
Edited by the Torreño City Council and the cultural association Qutiyyas, it is directed by the historian and official chronicler of the municipality Ricardo Montes.
"With its title it pays tribute to the Greek water nymphs and, even though it was born in Las Torres de Cotillas, it is open to specialists from all over the Region", says Montes, who explains that it is "an attempt to continue rescuing our past, opening a door to make known the regional roots, the daily life that preceded us and those stories that have forged the current Murcian character ".
The first issue, which has a total of 68 pages, offers articles by prestigious Murcian historians such as José Antonio Marín, Jesús Navarro, José Sánchez, Emilio del Carmelo Tomás, Alejo García and Montes himself.
