The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas will reduce CO2 emissions by more than 40% thanks to the change to LED technology of much of the public lighting.
And it is that the company that manages this municipal service is proceeding to the change of about 4,000 points of light - about 65% of the total - that until now worked with the download technology, method of lighting practically obsolete and inefficient.
These works, which will not cost a euro to the municipal coffers because they will be executed by the concessionaire company, come to join those already made at the beginning of the contract.
Of the nearly 6,800 points of light in the municipality, about 2,200 were changed, notably improving the lighting of the municipality, achieving a uniform, efficient and renewed service, as well as achieving a new image of it.
This action, extrapolated to CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, supposes a reduction of around 300 annual tons of emissions of this gas, offering a more modern, efficient and environmentally friendly energy system.
