About 500 young people of Secondary six centers of Las Torres de Cotillas participated yesterday Friday May 17 in the VI School Sports Meetings of the municipality.
Contested in the municipal sports facilities, they proposed a set of 20 sports events for the students of the Divino Maestro, Susarte and Monte Azahar schools, the Nuestra Señora de la Salceda professional training center, and the La Florida and Salvador Sandoval institutes.
This event, one of the most traditional of the Torreño school sport, was held in the following modalities: in the men's and women's category, soccer-7, 3x3 basketball, handball, volleyball, swimming, badminton and athletics (400 m, 1,000 m and long jump), while in the single category the sports were tennis, paddle, chess, checkers, racquetball, table tennis, mat, choreography and petanque.
Trophies to the best
Coordinated this year by the IES Salvador Sandoval, these sporting events had the collaboration of the Department of Physical Activity and Sports, and the General Directorate of Sports.
To round off the morning, the trophies were handed out to the participating centers, which were run by the mayor of Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, and the area councilor, Ginés Pérez.
