The peña Rincon Pulpitero of Las Torres de Cotillas concluded this past weekend the activities that accompanied its XXVII Pilgrimage Rociera.
A program of events that began at the beginning of the week with the free intensive course of sevillanas, which was celebrating its sixth edition.
Taught by Merche, a dozen participants could learn in two days the most important of this popular dance.
On Friday, May 17, the official events officially began with the inauguration of the enclosure at night in the neighborhood of Los Pulpites, as well as the opening of the barracks and the children's attractions.
Next, the program of the XXVII Pilgrimage Rociera was read, the imposition of medals was made, Antonia Morales was chosen as Rociera of the Year and the rociero festival took place with the performances of the group of sevillanas Alameda del Rincón and the musical group Esencia of the street.
More activities
The activities of Saturday, May 18, began at noon on the premises with Happy Hour, an aperitif of the XXVII Romería Rociera in the afternoon.
In the afternoon there was a gathering of participants in the Chapel of the Cross, to leave for the church of Our Lady of Salceda to present the Virgin to the patron saint Torrena, where the Salve Rociera was performed.
After the arrival of the pilgrimage to the precinct of Los Pulpites, a Mass was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption with the Blanca Paloma.
Then he went back to the festivities to listen to the proclamation of the poetess Carmen Montero almonte, anteroom of the XXVII Night Rociera that featured the performance of the group Alameda del Rincón and Amalia Abenza dance school.
At the end, those present enjoyed a tasting of donuts. The last day of events took place on Sunday May 19, which in the morning had a children's pilgrimage through the streets of Los Pulpites.
After midday, the championships for the launching of corners and olive stones were held, to conclude with a tasting of paellas in the festive area.
