The Department of Social Services of Las Torres de Cotillas continues with the program of actions aimed at prevention, monitoring and control of school absenteeism and reduction of school dropout.
Thus, the social center of the neighborhood of Carmen hosted in the morning on Monday May 20 a workshop on educational styles aimed at fathers and mothers, which was attended by the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
In addition, another workshop took place in the afternoon, framed within the municipal socio-educational reinforcement program.
Held in the social center of the neighborhood of Los Vicentes and aimed at children from 6 to 12 years, it strengthened the motivation to study and reinforced the importance of life habits.
Until June
The project, which began in January and will last until the end of June, also proposes other activities aimed at raising awareness in this area, such as informative talks to Secondary students in their classrooms.
In addition, family schools are run parallel to the parents of these minors and people interested in the subject.
This initiative, whose funding comes from a grant awarded by the Ministry of Education and Universities and the European Social Fund, also aims to involve local groups interested in this topic.
