Athlete Torreño Angel Salinas returns to add new titles with which to fatten his extensive track record.
The last ones he has achieved in the open-air masters championship played in Lorca last Sunday, June 2, where he achieved three new golds.
He did it in the modalities for over 65s of 100 (13'43 ''), 200 (27'81 '') and 400 meters (1: 05'28 ''), his favorites and in which he has been dominating the regional athletics of its category in recent years.
"Ángel is an inexhaustible source of success for our sport and an inspiration for his neighbors," explains the acting mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who has congratulated the veteran athlete for these new successes.
Latest successes
Salinas was proclaimed in Ourense last March, national champion of 60, 200 and 40 meters of veterans over 65 years.
A few days later he took part in the Masters Indoor Track World Championship in Torun (Poland), where he was fifth in the 200 meters.
"In the 400 meters flat he had very bad luck, because in the last meters a rival made him fall and lost the silver or bronze that he had almost assured", points out the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
