Joaquín Vela was elected on Saturday, June 15, as the new mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas for the 2019-2023 term.
In the extraordinary plenary session celebrated in a House of Culture Pedro Serna to overflow the PSOE candidate has been designated by majority thanks to the support of their councilors and Citizens.
"It is grateful for the loyalty of Citizens in the negotiations to achieve a pact that helps the governance of our people, respecting the majority will of Las Torres de Cotillas," said Vela, who has advanced that these two mayors will be integrated into their Government team.
PSOE was the most voted party in Las Torres de Cotillas in the last municipal elections of May 26 thanks to the vote of 3,681 voters, which resulted in nine councilors, compared to the PP, 2 Citizens and 2 VOX .
"From now on Las Torres de Cotillas will have a second street that will be the City Council, because it will be open wide for any neighbor or neighbor who needs us," says the new alderman.
The new mayor thus happens in front of the Torreño City Council to the popular Isabel María Zapata, to whom he has thanked for his work and his treatment towards him.
Vela, which recovers for the PSOE the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas after 16 years of popular government, thus becomes the eighth mayor of the municipality in the democratic era.
