The Ministry of Development, as announced today by the Official State Gazette (BOE), has approved the public information file and finally the draft layout of the "Improvement of the Link of the A-7 motorway at PK 575, right bank ( Link with the N-344) ", in the province of Murcia.
On October 15, 2018, the Public Information procedure was initiated by publication in the BOE of the provisional approval resolution of the project.
The link object of action, known as Cotillas Towers Link, is located at kilometer 575 of the A-7 motorway.
It is a trumpet link that connects with the N-344 road (Las Torres de Cotillas / Fuente la Higuera) through a roundabout channeled with segregated lanes.
It has been planned to modify the end of the branch of the exit from kilometer 575 direction Almería-Murcia, eliminating the existing "yield the pass" and enabling a new direct lane extension of the branch to the roundabout.
Thus, vehicles from the Almería-Murcia branch that currently have to give way to those of the Murcia-Almería direction, will be able to directly access the roundabout, avoiding retentions on the branch line and improving road safety.
For this, the extension of the platform of the confluence zone of the two branches is planned.
The planned works will improve road safety by increasing the capacity of the existing link, avoiding retentions in the exit branch and improving visibility conditions by extending traffic lanes on the branch line to Las Torres de Cotillas and Javalí Nuevo.
