That is what will be achieved with the improvement project of the Ministry of Development to link the A-7 highway with the N-344, a road that supports a daily average of almost 24,000 vehicles, many of them heavy trucks.
"It is going to modify the end of the exit route of the highway in the kilometer 575 direction Almería-Murcia, which is a trumpet-type link", explains the first deputy mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Marian Fernández, who It states that "an extension lane will be created until the roundabout that connects with the N-344 and eliminating the" cede el paso "that currently exists".
This same week the Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the final approval of the layout of this project, which includes the expansion of the platform of the confluence area of ​​the two branches.
Thus, the vehicles that access the N-344 from the Almería-Murcia direction will be able to reach the roundabout directly, without having to give way to those who come from the opposite direction as it currently occurs.
"With this improvement, a 'black point' will be eliminated from this access that causes retentions and creates danger in the intense traffic that circulates every day along this route," says the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Joaquín Vela.
"We have to solve the current traffic problems in the accesses to our town, which suffer many delays during peak hours, because that way we will improve the quality of life of our neighbors," says the mayor.
