The Atlético Torreño and the City of Las Torres, football clubs of Las Torres de Cotillas, have decided to work together and for this they have merged their sports schools for the 2019-20 season.
"From now on, around 300 players from 4 to 18 years of age, from lollipops to juniors, will play under the name of Atlético Torreño UCAM", points out the Councilor for Sport, Alberta Martínez Vázquez, who points out that the technical teams of said schools.
Through an official statement disseminated on social networks both entities have made public this merger, highlighting their intention to unite "forces and strategies" and stressing "the need to make a unique and stronger club to become a benchmark in the soccer of the Region of Murcia ".
Some young players who will continue to train and play their corresponding competitions in the municipal sports facilities as they have done so far.
Seven years separately
After seven years of separate competition, these clubs join their football schools, in a joint project that will continue to have the collaboration of the Department of Sports.
"The directives of both entities have raised this decision as a new boost to Las Torres de Cotillas football, basing it on the maxim that the union is strength," said Torreño mayor Joaquín Vela Fernández.
