Starting today, Monday, July 15, the municipal inert landfill of Las Torres de Cotillas will expand its service hours.
If currently these facilities were only open Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (4 hours), their schedule is now significantly extended.
"Now our neighbors who need this service will be able to use it from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., that is, 27.5 hours per week," says Torreño Mayor Joaquín Vela Fernández, who recalls that in 2018 845'20 tons of construction and demolition waste (RCD) entered the landfill.
This improvement is part of the extension of the contract for urban waste collection and street cleaning of the municipality, provided by the company Urbaser, SA, and will provide a better service to the promoters of works in the municipality.
The Las Torres de Cotillas landfill has a capacity of 18,134 tons of RCD, that is, 0.90 tons per inhabitant per day.
