The City of Las Torres de Cotillas has extended the term of the video contest on social networks that has a prize of 200 euros and is part of the municipal campaign to prevent excessive alcohol consumption among young people from 16 to 22 years.
Under the motto 'Less is more.
Who controls, you or the alcohol? ', This initiative of the Department of Health and Sport has two main objectives: on the one hand, raise awareness of the damage to mental health caused by alcohol consumption;
and, on the other, to alert the physical risk to vulnerability to prevent and avoid situations of violence, harassment and accidents.
"In Spain, alcohol consumption begins between the ages of 13 and 16, and one of the main problems is the consumption of binge eating, which has been growing since 2009," explains Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
"Some really worrying data and that we must face with awareness efforts such as the campaign that we will launch at local parties, in which situations occur where these behaviors can occur," he says.
New deadlines
The contest proposes to young people to create an advertising spot of maximum 60 seconds that promotes responsible consumption and reports on the damages that alcohol can cause to health and physical integrity.
How they can be affected by alcohol abuse or what they would say to their friends are some of the questions asked to ensure that they do not lose control of their consumption again.
The registration and presentation of works will now end on Wednesday, August 28 (12 hours), while the voting of the selected videos will be in the municipal Instagram account from Wednesday, August 28 to Sunday, September 1.
"The most voted video will win the unique prize proposed and for more information you can visit the website www.lastorresdecotillas.es/concejalia-de-salud-y-deporte-campana-menos-es-mas or call the City Council, at 968.626. 511 ", explains the councilwoman of the area, Alberta Martínez Vázquez.
Free breakfast
The other initiative of this municipal campaign is a breathalyzer control from 4 to 5 in the morning with free breakfast for those who do not exceed the permitted alcohol rates.
"Those who do not exceed the limits of 0'25 mg / l of expired alcohol will be rewarded with a breakfast of churros with chocolate at the fair," says the mayor, who emphasizes that the main message that you want to move is that "consume hurts one's health and being responsible and not consuming or controlling has a prize.
