Improve urban solid waste collection and municipal road cleaning of the streets of Las Torres de Cotillas.
That is the main objective of the incorporation of the new equipment to the service provided by the Urbaser company, which were presented on the morning of Tuesday, September 3.
"Our purpose is the continuous improvement of all municipal services to citizens and measures such as this support this line of work," said the City Councilor for Maintenance, María Ángeles Fernández Fernández.
It is a suction sweeper, with a capacity of 4 m3, a rear-load waste collection truck and a hot water steam machine on a trailer for weed removal.
"With these equipments it is tried to reinforce the mechanical sweep, mechanical beacon, scan sweep, pickling and rinsing of pedestrian streets", says the person in charge of the area, which indicates that the new truck is a replacement.
No chemical herbicides
"These new machines will also allow an improvement of the weeding and elimination service of weeds on public roads with thermal and mechanical methods," explains the mayor, who recalls that in October 2017 a joint motion to eliminate the clearing with chemical herbicides.
"The City Council promised to adopt alternative methods, such as thermal or mechanical, and that we will comply with," says Fernández Fernández, who recalls that new equipment and containers will be added over the next few months.
