The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas has activated its municipal Emergency Plan, in a pre-emergency situation.
After the meeting chaired at the Local Security Center this morning by Mayor Torreño, Joaquín VelaFernández, the following recommendations have been adopted by virtue of the red alert for rains that the town suffers until tomorrow Friday:
Do not park vehicles overnight on Juan Carlos I and Reyes Católicos avenues, and on Oltra Moltó and Mula streets.
Ask the neighbors to live from the road of San Juan to the side of the safe river (Pacorrín area and nearby) that if they can evacuate before this night (21 hours) to homes in the urban area and if they do not have this possibility go to Mireia Belmonte municipal pavilion (Oltra Moltó Avenue) that will be enabled for this need.
Do not park vehicles tonight in underground car parks (public or private).
Avoid as much as possible all travel in vehicles and, if necessary, it is recommended not to park in flood areas and never stop the vehicle in waterways and other usual waterways.
Given the possibility of power outages, it is advisable to have flashlights and spare batteries for them.
For this, the City Council will use all its usual broadcast channels, in addition to launching a public address system to report directly in the most problematic areas.
In addition, the staff of the Local Police (968 624 092) and Civil Protection are on alert and ready to act in case of any contingency.
Caution
AEMET forecasts terminate this red alert tomorrow Friday at 6 o'clock, but if there is any change due to the development of the DANA (Isolated Depression in High Levels) it will be duly informed.
"First of all we must be cautious and be aware of the possible dangers to avoid them and not fall into unnecessary risks. We must be clear that we are in a very delicate situation," explains Mayor Torreño.
