A fun historical vision of the struggle of the sexes.
That is what the Caligae Teatro de Yecla group offered with its play 'Women's Assembly' last Saturday, October 5, at the beginning of the eighth edition of the national amateur theater contest Juan Baño de Las Torres de Cotillas.
This was the first of the four works in competition in this event held at the Pedro Serna House of Culture, organized once again by the Department of Culture of Las Torres de Cotillas and the amateur theater group Tejuba in the municipality.
With this work, the Yeclana company completes the Aristophan trilogy.
Share with Lisístrata and Tesmoforias be a comedy of women, because in all of them the struggle of the sexes is justified.
A representation in which women agree to do what is necessary to take the appearance of men and attend the Assembly, trying to convince them to give them the city and put one of them in front of the town.
A big poster
All the works will be represented at 9:00 pm at the Torreña Culture House and will have an entrance fee of 3 euros.
The following week (October 12) the company Mascarade de Madrid will represent The Grönholm method and on October 19 it will be the turn of La Barra de Federico (San Pedro del Pinatar) with the broken unicorn.
The representations to the contest will be closed on October 26 by Fubol, by El Telón Negro de Navalcarnero (Madrid).
To conclude this edition, on Saturday, November 9 (9 pm) and with free admission, the awards ceremony will be held.
An evening in which attendees can enjoy the representation of the prodigious shoemaker, which the Tejuba group will make out of competition.
