The City of Las Torres de Cotillas is carrying out the change of urban solid waste collection containers (MSW) in districts, urbanizations and industrial estates of the municipality.
"They are going to place deposits of greater capacity, which is forcing at certain points to change their traditional locations and even to eliminate others," explains Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
In this way, the current 800-liter rear-loading containers are being replaced by new ones of 2,400 liters and lateral cargo.
"We are going to test these new locations for a few weeks to check the collection capacity of these new containers," explains the City Councilor for Maintenance, María Ángeles Fernández Fernández, who recalls that the displacement of containers is a slight violation of the ordinance municipal RSU and road cleaning, with fines of up to 750 euros.
"The change in the collection system is being carried out by Urbaser, the municipal service concessionaire, and will improve collection efficiency and will allow less improper use of selective containers," says the mayor, who reports that the location of the containers The City Council performs under technical criteria, trying to minimize the inconvenience.
