The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas celebrated Thursday, October 24, the world day against climate change, a date established by the Organization of United Nations (UN).
"It is a day designed to mobilize and raise awareness about the serious damage that climate change and global warming entail in our planet," explains Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández, who presided over this activity.
In it, the Councilor for Ecological Transition and Environment, Francisco Fernández Baño, made a demonstration for municipal staff about the different recycling that must be done to contribute to the reduction of the so-called carbon footprint.
"The main contributor to this dangerous climate change, to the greenhouse effect, are some gases, including carbon dioxide," said the councilor, who highlights the importance of each person's small contribution to this great environmental challenge.
