This October the Department of Maintenance of the City of Las Torres de Cotillas is performing the corresponding winter pruning, both in the alignment of woodland and palm trees and in parks and gardens.
"The type of pruning that is being carried out in both areas is training, conservation and maintenance, and security," explains the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
The main objective in the alignment trees is to eliminate those branches that can cover traffic signs, street lamps, traffic lights or balconies on facades, as well as improve the cleanliness of the streets.
"Another of the fundamental aims of these works is that the pedestrian can walk freely on the sidewalks," says councilwoman María Ángeles Fernández Fernández.
To reduce the execution times given the inconvenience caused by this type of trees, the concession company of the municipal park and garden service has established a team of five people.
This staff has a lifting platform, a truck for transporting plant debris, and auxiliary equipment, such as carvings, chainsaws and blowers for cleaning after pruning.
