The Pedro Serna House of Culture of Las Torres de Cotillas was the scene on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 5 of the talk 'Alcoholism as a disease', organized by the City Council in collaboration with the local group of 'Alcoholics Anonymous' (AA ).
Dr. José María García Basterrechea, a doctor specializing in drug addiction and alcoholism, and one of the greatest experts in the Region of Murcia participated in this presentation.
The talk was also attended by the Councilor for Health and Sports, Alberta Martínez Vázquez, in addition to two members of the local AA group explaining their own personal experiences.
"It is important to give visibility to this problem, which should be treated as a disease, so that you lose that social stigma that complicates the possibility of solving it," explains the mayor.
