The Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna' in Las Torres de Cotillas hosted on Wednesday morning November 20 a new activity of the commemoration program of November 25, international day against gender violence.
It has been a film-forum about the Spanish film 'You are not alone, Sara', which presents the story based on real events of a young woman who is mistreated by her boyfriend.
It has been organized by the Department of Equality, has had the assistance of the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, and at the end of the projection I have developed a colloquium among the attendees on this social problem.
In addition, among the activities of this extensive program to commemorate the 25N two events still to be celebrated stand out: the first edition of the conference against gender violence on women in the municipality, which will be held on Friday, November 22 (9:30 am ) organized by UGT Region of Murcia in the House of Culture in collaboration with the City Council;
and the march against gender violence in the municipality, which will be in its fifth edition on Sunday, November 24 (10 hours), departing from the Constitution Park and whose proceeds will go to the benefit of the association 'I want to grow up'.
"We must show our firm position against gender-based violence, which is an attack on human rights and the dignity of people, and that prevents our society from continuing to advance along the path of well-being and social progress that we want," highlights the Councilwoman María del Mar Ruiz Rosillo, who has been present in this activity.
