The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas has once again suffered the effects of vandalism on its street furniture.
If on the last night of Halloween the affected elements were containers, telephone booths and canopies of the bus stops, now it has touched the parks and gardens of the municipality.
"These savages, whose deplorable fun is to destroy everyone's property, have broken swings, bins and banks in these public spaces," explains the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, who on behalf of the entire municipality wanted to condemn these acts.
Some damage that the municipal concessionaire of the maintenance of parks and gardens values at about 1,500 euros and that, according to the Municipal Ordinance on Protection of Citizen Coexistence and Prevention of Antisocial Actions, can be fined up to 3,000 euros.
"The economic value of the damages is important, but it is even more so that the citizens cannot enjoy these goods while they are repaired or replaced, and that a quiet town such as Las Torres de Cotillas has to suffer these episodes of violence," complains the first deputy mayor and city maintenance councilor, María Ángeles Fernández Fernández.
Once again, the government team appeals to citizenship and citizen responsibility to curb these embarrassing acts, and requests the collaboration of its neighbors to discover those responsible.
"We ask for the good of all that whoever has any information about these people should contact the Local Police at 968.624.092," says the mayor.
