The Department of Social Services of Las Torres de Cotillas continues to develop in the educational centers of the municipality various training activities framed in the Municipal Drug Prevention Plan.
One of them is the risk prevention workshop in adolescents, which began this November and is carried out during the first quarter.
The recipients are the students of 3rd and 4th ESO, and 1st and 2nd Basic FP, divided into 30 groups.
"There are about 520 students participating in these workshops, who carry out preventive work with young people addressing the main risks to which they are exposed because they are in the process of maturation and transition to adult life," explains Councilwoman María del Mar Ruiz Rosillo .
The centers participating in this initiative are the IES Salvador Sandoval and La Florida, the Vocational Training Center Nuestra Señora de la Salceda and the CEIP Divino Maestro, Susarte and Monteazahar.
Various topics
These workshops - funded by the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions of the Ministry of Health - are taught by professional experts outside the school, have a total of four sessions per group and are held during school hours.
Among the topics discussed are the prevention of consumption of alcohol, tobacco and other substances, affective-sexual relations, the prevention of cyberbullying and the misuse of new technologies or social skills and self-esteem.
