It's already Christmas in Las Torres de Cotillas.
The program of municipal activities proposed by the Department of Festivities started on the afternoon of Thursday, December 5 with the act of lighting Christmas lights that was held in a square Adolfo Suárez chaired by a large tree and an impressive light box.
Chaired by the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, and councilman Francisco José Caravaca Bravo, who featured dance performances, children's entertainment, Christmas photocall, fireworks show and free chocolate churros tasting.
In addition, the municipal Bethlehem was opened in the basement of the Torreño Consistory.
This weekend there is another scheduled activity.
It will be the inauguration of a Christmas tree made with recycled bottles and ornaments, scheduled for Sunday December 8 (18 hours).
A proposal whose main objective is environmental awareness and that has been organized by the association 'Stravadanza' in collaboration with the local City Council.
Extensive program
"The proposed program is wide and varied, with activities for all ages and tastes. We hope that all our neighbors enjoy these acts that have been prepared with such love and enthusiasm from the Department of Celebrations," explains the mayor.
Among them we can find on Saturday December 14 (20 hours) the Christmas proclamation, which will be borne by the Superior Council of Brotherhoods in the Church of Our Lady of La Salceda.
Among the most outstanding proposals on Sunday, December 15 (12 hours), the 26th edition of the 'José López Asensio' gang meeting will arrive at the Esplanade 'Don José Palazón' and on Friday, December 20 (17 hours) the Christmas market will open in Adolfo Suarez Square, which will be active all weekend.
Other important events will be the Christmas solidarity gala organized by the dance academy 'Víctor Campos' in the municipal auditorium 'Juan Baño' in favor of those affected by DANA (December 22, 12 hours);
the children's and youth cinema sessions, which will take place in the Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna' (December 26, 27, 28 and 30, 11:30 am);
the Christmas yincana in Adolfo Suárez Square (December 28, 6 pm);
or the first San Silvestre charity meeting (December 29, 10:30 hours), with food contributions to benefit NGOs.
Already in 2020
At the new year there will still be activities that stand out in the municipal program.
On Friday, January 3 (20 hours) Casa de la Cultura will host the family show of magic and illusionism by Jammes Garibo (tickets at 3 euros, for sale at the Town Hall);
On Saturday, January 4, at the Maestro Don Ángel Palazón esplanade, a large free playground is proposed in the morning and afternoon, where you can also deliver the letters to SS.MM.

As a climax, on Sunday, January 5 (11 hours) there will be a tasting of giant king's roscón and chocolate in Adolfo Suarez square, while in the afternoon the traditional Reyes parade will be held (17 hours).
Departing from Juan Carlos I Avenue and arriving at the round of Mula Street, at the end of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar they will give a detail to all the children in the Maestro Ángel Palazón esplanade.
