A special device of agents of both bodies will act to prevent robberies in urbanizations and end criminal acts located in different neighborhoods of the town.
The Government delegate, Francisco Jiménez, and the mayor of Torres de Cotillas, Joaquín Vela, held a Local Security Board this morning, with the participation of the Civil Guard, Local Police and Civil Protection of the town, as well as security officers of the townhall.
In it they have addressed the evolution of crime during this year, as well as different situations that need to strengthen actions.
During 2019, crime fell significantly, so that serious and less serious crimes decreased by 13 percent, in the same way that criminal offenses dropped and the number of detainees was lower.
This situation has been possible thanks to the close collaboration between Civil Guard and Local Police, who have acted in coordination.
However, actions are currently being carried out to identify the perpetrators of various acts of vandalism that have recently occurred at night and on weekends, with destruction of street furniture.
To that end, among other measures, a campaign will be carried out to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors and drug retailing.
To that end, the Police Tutor program in schools will also be reinforced to educate minors and prevent future criminal habits.
On the other hand, the number of troops destined to control thefts in the urbanizations of the town will be increased, as well as other criminal actions located in the neighborhoods of El Carmen and Los Vicentes.
Also, with a view to the upcoming Christmas holidays, there will be a device to ensure safe trade, and avoid conflicts in the agglomerations.
