The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Joaquín Vela Fernández, presided over the closing ceremony of the mixed employment and training program for unemployed people over 25 in his specialty of 'Cleaning surfaces and furniture in buildings and premises'.
In this act held last Friday, January 10, the City Council participated in the 15 people who have obtained this certificate of professionalism, in addition to their two teachers.
The theoretical training has been made compatible with the real work of the participants, who have had a training contract and under the supervision of their teacher have carried out cleaning work using the most appropriate products, materials and machinery for each surface to be treated , complying with safety and hygiene standards.
These works have been carried out mainly in the schools San José, Valentín Buendía, El Parque, El Cervantes and Vistalegre, and in the municipal offices of the City Hall, the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' and the municipal sports center.
"In addition to the main training in cleaning, students have received complementary training in computer literacy, resources for job search and improvement, prevention of occupational hazards, environmental awareness, social economy and self-employment and gender equality," said the mayor torreño.
Improve employability
This initiative has had a budget of 217,774 euros, fully subsidized by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).
"It should be noted that the purpose of this program for unemployed people aged 25 to 54 (PMEF-MY) is to improve their employability. Participating in these projects where works or services of public or social utility are carried out allows them to professionalize and acquire experience to facilitate their labor insertion ", indicates the Councilor for Training and Employment, Elisa Isabel Hurtado Avilés.
