Torreño businessman Rafael Fuentes has been designated the Great Pezde for the Burial of the Sardine 2020, which will take place in Murcia from April 11 to 18.
Fuentes, general director of the logistics company 'Grupo Fuentes' of Las Torres de Cotillas, will hold the position that in other years important businessmen from the Region of Murcia have held, such as Alfonso López ('Queen Desserts'), José María Martínez ( 'Grupo Caliche'), José María Albarracín ('La Estrella') or Patricio Valverde ('Estrella de Levante').
Rafael Fuentes, who was the preacher of the Holy Week 2019 of Las Torres de Cotillas, also received last year the award 'Top Road Transport Manager' (Best Road Transport Manager) awarded by IRU, the world organization of road transport.
A distinction that first fell to a Spanish manager and rewarded his career at the head of a leading company in the transport of goods in the European market.
'Grupo Fuentes', with over 30 years of experience in the sector, has its headquarters in Las Torres de Cotillas (Murcia) and has offices in Castejón (Navarra), Santiago de Compostela (A Coruña), Picassent (Valencia) , Mercamadrid (Madrid) and Vlissingen (Holland).
"We are very happy for Rafael and his family. In addition to a great person and a great professional, he is a torreño de pro, who loves his people and bears the name of Las Torres de Cotillas with great pride wherever he goes," explains the Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
The appointment of Fuentes, made by the Sardinera Group of Murcia, has been completed with that of Doña Sardina.
This year will be Paloma Jaudenes, founder of the textile and accessories firm 'Little Moma'.
