The Department of Celebrations has reconvened the drawing contest to design the figure of the Scratch, a cardboard stone doll that every year is the protagonist of the municipality's festivities.
Until February 29, the works to represent this scarecrow can be presented, a human figure whose body is made up of motifs or species from the Murcian orchard.
"We want to encourage the talent and imagination of our neighbors to create one more year the most characteristic figure of our parties, with which we honor the orchard past of Las Torres de Cotillas," explains the councilor, Francisco José Caravaca Bravo.
This contest is intended for residents of Las Torres de Cotillas over 12 years of age, will only accept original and unpublished works, and will award a prize for the best drawing of a voucher of 100 euros provided by the 'Las Torres Commercial Area' to spend in their shops Associates
In addition, the winning work will be creditor of a small-scale figure of the 2020 Raspajo, prepared by local artisans Pedro Fermín López and Rubén Fernández.
"They will also be the authors of the great 'ninot' of large dimensions that is raised in the Master Don Ángel Palazón esplanade for later burning as the end of parties," says Caravaca Bravo.
Those interested in gathering more information can access the section of the Department of Celebrations on the website www.lastorresdecotillas.es, where they will find the basis of this contest.
"The award ceremony will be on August 21 during the gala presentation of the parties in the municipal auditorium 'Juan Baño', when they are also presented to the queens of the festivities," says the mayor.
