With the vote against the councilors of the PSOE and the abstention of those of Citizens, in the recent Ordinary Plenary of the City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas has not prospered a Motion of the PP to support Juan Guaidó as legitimate president of Venezuela, in the which also summoned the president of the Government, the socialist Pedro Sánchez, to dismiss the Minister of Transportation, José Luis Ábalos, if it is confirmed that he held a meeting at the Madrid airport with the number two of the Venezuelan Government of Nicolás Maduro, Delcy Rodríguez.
It is a shameful and intolerable fact to which the leaders of the PSOE cannot remain silent, who may be required to be portrayed before the negligent attitude of a minister of the Central Executive and of the President of the Government himself in the presence of Juan Guaidó in Spain.
With this initiative, the popular torreños wanted to make public the municipal socialist positions when the Motion was presented.
We hope that these leaders would have reconsidered, reflected and marked distances with the coalition government of PSOE, Podemos and independentistas, after Pedro Sánchez has refused to receive Guaidó during his visit to Spain.
In the Motion, the popular people of Las Torres de Cotillas urged the President of the Government to recognize as soon as possible the legitimacy of the new Board of Directors of the National Assembly of Venezuela and to receive Juan Guaidó, president in charge of Venezuela, as a way of expressing support I express the whole government and the entire Spanish people to the process that is driving and leading to recover democracy in Venezuela.
In addition, the proposal called on the Government of Spain to unequivocally condemn the attempted coup perpetrated by Maduro and the repeated violation by the Chavez regime of civil and political rights of deputies of the democratic forces and the right to freedom of expression and information, both from journalists and Venezuelans.
He also requested the Motion to the Government of Spain to lead in the European Union the requirement of sanctions for the senior officials of the Maduro regime, as well as the blocking of their accounts and the defense of the holding of democratic, free and transparent elections in Venezuela.
Regarding the possible meeting that the Minister of Transportation, José Luis Ábalos, held with the number two of the Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro, Delcy Rodríguez, the PP claimed to Pedro Sánchez the immediate dismissal of Ábalos if it ends up proving that he met at the airport Madrid with the illegitimate vice president of the Maduro regime, sanctioned by the European Union with the ban on entering the Schengen area.
For the Torreño PP, a leader capable of recognizing the illegitimate vice president of a dictatorship cannot continue one day in front of the Ministry of Transportation if it ends up proving that he met with Delcy Rodríguez.
If he knew that the Venezuelan vice president was at the airport, the minister should have denounced him, as it is the responsibility of any citizen and more a public office that believes and respects democracy.
Because we are facing an extremely serious event.
For all these reasons, to present this Motion the PP was to position itself on the side of Venezuelan democracy against the tyranny of Nicolás Maduro.
