The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Joaquín Vela Fernández, held a meeting with the president of the regional government, Fernando López Miras, on Monday morning, February 17, where both have addressed the main issues of importance to the municipality.
In this meeting held in the Palace of San Esteban de Murcia, the mayor Torreño has moved as main aspects the improvement, reform and provision of schools in the town.
"We have sufficient funds, but we do not have the necessary skills to undertake these tasks, so we ask the Autonomous Community for collaboration to unblock this situation," said the mayor.
The meeting also discussed the need for improvements in infrastructure and transport, where the local administration also has no powers.
"The City Council makes available all its resources, including economic resources, and we hope the regional government will welcome them. We need to draw another scenario in which to work together, establishing a communication channel that allows us to achieve the objectives that improve the quality of life of our neighbors. ", explains Mayor Torreño, who has expressed the predisposition of the regional president.
