The first deputy mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, María Ángeles Fernández Fernández, met last week with the first deputy mayor and councilor for the Promotion of the City of Murcia, Mario Gómez Figal, to discuss the state of the national highway 344. "This route is the responsibility of the City of Murcia from the A-7 motorway until it reaches the municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas, where it begins to be nationally owned," explains the mayor.
Fernández Fernández explained the need for the Murcia Consistory to undertake improvement works in its part of this road that joins both municipalities.
Specifically, this meeting talked about the need to fix the firm whose potholes make driving difficult in certain areas, as well as the pruning of the ditch vegetation that disturbs the visibility of drivers.
"It is noteworthy the good tuning and the predisposition between both municipalities to collaborate and give a quick solution to these problems, which tell us that they have already entered the study phase," said the lieutenant mayor Torreña.
"Both administrations must work in a coordinated way so that the road does not offer problems to the users of the road, mainly in our municipality and others in the Vega Media. These improvement works will result in greater safety for drivers, which means an average daily of almost 24,000 vehicles, "says Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
