The student of the Public School "Maestro Jesús Ferrer" of Las Torres de Cotillas, Oscar Pardo, winner of the drawing contest of the poster announcing the children's procession of Holy Week 2020 of the town
The student of the sixth year of Primary of the Public School "Maestro Jesús Ferrer" of Las Torres de Cotillas, Óscar Pardo Martínez, has been the winner of the third edition of the drawing contest that the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías of the town organizes to choose the Poster design of the children's procession of Holy Week.
If, four years ago, an event that was thought of as a future guarantee for the continuity of something splendid and massive as was the local Holy Week began in Las Torres de Cotillas (we talked about that mentioned children's procession driven with the aim of consolidation and evolution to more like a nursery of young generations to incorporate in a cofrade field with documented origins at the beginning of the 17th century), this drawing contest for the design of its poster poster was not lagging behind a year later, which, edition after edition, has experienced an exponential boom in the number of participating schoolchildren and immense support and determined collaboration provided by the schools of this population of Vega Media del Segura.
Thanks to this commitment and constant support, hundreds of local students have taken part in the call for this 2020, which is a record this year of contestants who, having as a requirement a maximum age of 16 years, have drawn the image of the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazarene and Holy Burial of Christ that parades in the aforementioned children's procession.
According to the significant figures of works received since last December, we are facing a contest that, edition after edition, goes to more in quality and number of participants, an exponential growth similar to the one that has been experiencing since its creation in 2017 the Children's procession of Holy Week in Las Torres de Cotillas -programmed this year on March 29, at 5 p.m.-, nursery of new brotherhoods and school of devotion focused on giving continuity and expansion to one of the traditions and samples of religiosity popular more massive, splendid and more traditional of the municipality.
It should be noted that the name and surname of the winner of this third edition of the children's contest, at the discretion of a Jury established for this purpose and composed of members of the aforementioned Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazarene and Holy Burial of Christ, has been revealed in the act Solemn presentation of the official poster of Holy Week 2020 that took place on the afternoon of this Sunday, February 23, in the Parish Church of Our Lady of Salceda in Las Torres de Cotillas.
Both the award-winning child in this pictorial contest and the school in which he studies the same -represented by his teacher of Religion, Ana Sánchez- have received recognition of gratitude and gratitude for their participation and commitment to the objectives of this clear contest didactic purpose and humanistic training two plates that have been delivered to them by the President of the Cabildo, Juan José Ruiz, in reference to the presentation of the posters announcing the local Holy Week.
