The Onofre Fernández Verdú field in Las Torres de Cotillas will see its artificial turf surface replaced in future dates, which was installed in 2008 and already has deficiencies.
"This lawn has already exhausted its useful life and we have considered it necessary to replace it to ensure adequate sports performance, avoiding injuries to athletes and improving the performance of the installation," explains the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
With a budget of about 212,000 euros contributed by the municipal coffers, these works will involve the installation of a modern artificial grass system and the latest avant-garde, certified in the laboratory according to the quality criteria Fifa Quality and Une En 15 330-1.
In addition, the grass discarded for sports will be partially reused in beds of the municipal sports center itself.
"The objective is to give a second life to this material, find a utility and nothing more appropriate to improve existing facilities and their environmental quality, and promote better use and enjoyment of users," said the mayor.
