In view of the health crisis caused by the spread of the coronavirus, the Las Torres de Cotillas City Council is intensifying the cleaning and disinfection work in the public areas of the town in collaboration with the municipal services concessionaires.
On the one hand, areas that may harbor a high confluence of neighbors, such as pharmacies, medical centers, supermarkets and food stores, funeral homes, etc. are being treated on the streets.
"A hot water steam engine with a disinfecting solution is being used, with wash-downs by a cuba truck and a sweeper with a water-jet pistol," says Mayor Joaquín Vela Fernández, who points out that these tasks are carried out by Urbaser.
On the other hand, these tasks are also being carried out in the public spaces of the green areas of the town, carried out by the UTE Desarrollos PaisajísticosLirola.
Disinfection of children's games and street furniture is being carried out in these places by spraying with a disinfecting broth with a concentration of 1 g / liter of active chlorine.
"They are preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, although the main rule is to stay at home, since it is forbidden to go outside without just cause," says the mayor, who appeals to the responsibility of citizens.
