The PMUS update enters the public exposure phase until July 20 (11/06/2020)

| Citizens can make their comments, proposals for improvement and / or allegations to this plan that seeks a more sustainable mobility model | The proposal document for updating the municipality's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS), a project of the Las Torres de Cotillas City Council that began in September 2019 and is part of the Urban Development Strategy, is already in the process of public exposure.

"This period ends on July 20, so the PMUS drafting team and the City Council will respond to the allegations and value their incorporation, provided they are within the objectives of the plan," explains Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández, who highlights that all this work seeks a main objective: a more sustainable mobility model. "Citizens can make their claims through registration," reports the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Rafael Martínez García, who notes that these proposals arise from different areas: from the results of the diagnosis; of the ideas and reasoning of the citizen participation process, which included municipal associative entities, businessmen and neighbors; of the city model that the City Council wants for the future; of the proposals and common objectives between the PMUS and the EDUSI project; and of the environmental objectives dictated by Europe and in force worldwide. Balance "The PMUS must ensure a balance between mobility and accessibility needs, favoring the protection of the environment, promoting economic development and improving social inclusion, basic principles for achieving sustainable mobility", explains the Councilor for Mobility, Francisco José Caravaca Bravo.

This balance must be translated into an improvement in the mobility of citizens, with coherent pedestrian and bicycle networks, guaranteeing accessibility to public transport, pacifying traffic, promoting more sustainable means of transport, and achieving increased security.

Some objectives that will lead to a decrease in accidents and a decrease in pollution, both environmental and acoustic, derived from traffic. EDUSI 'Las Torres Conecta' is co-financed 80% by FEDER funds, through the 2014-2020 Multi-regional Operational Program of Spain.

This action is framed in Line of Action LA 02, Development of sustainable urban mobility, connection with districts and industrial areas, belonging to Thematic Objective 4 (OT4) "Favor the transition to a low carbon economy in all sectors".
