| This municipal facility regularly offers service to about 1,500 monthly users | The Department of Health and Sports of Las Torres de Cotillas, taking advantage of the slowdown suffered by the municipal team sports facilities due to the health crisis of COVID-19, has launched the annual maintenance work on the artificial turf of the soccer field 7 .
"These works are necessary to ensure that the facility, located next to the Pedro Serna House of Culture, is in the best possible condition for practicing sports for the longest time," says councilor Verónica Morcillo De La Torre. Among the tasks planned -all of them carried out with specific machinery- are the checking and repair of the joints or elements that may have been damaged; the decompaction, aeration and cleaning of the landfill, as well as its redistribution; reorientation of the fiber, with brushing of the entire surface of the artificial grass to keep it vertical; and sweeping the field.
These works, which will be carried out by the company that was in charge of this project, have an annual frequency for a period of five years, according to the award criteria. Typically serving around 1,500 users per month among clubs, amateur league players, and fixed rents, this municipal pitch has a grandstand that seats 120 spectators.
"These works are carried out following all the hygienic-sanitary measures necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19," explains Mayor Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández, who hopes that these facilities can be used in the coming weeks.
