| Balance of a year of PSOE-Citizens government in Las Torres de Cotillas, according to the popular | Taking stock of this first year of the legislature, we cannot overlook an anniversary marked, without a doubt, by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has severely affected our locality in terms of health, social and economic crises.In the face of the coronavirus, you must continue to be cautious and comply with the recommended health measures so as not to take false steps.
We must walk a safe path and in the best conditions of recovery and strength in the face of adversity. To conjure up this harsh situation there is no need to skimp on media and our city council must put on the table all possible initiatives to help families, SMEs, merchants, the self-employed, ... The broad and necessary package of measures that the PP of Las Torres de Cotillas has been proposing to the Socialist Mayor for the recovery of the municipality and the return to normality in the most suitable conditions of reactivation of the town and its neighbors. To date, the popular torreños have only received a silent response from the PSOE-Citizen Government Team, silence, if not even outright rejection by each plenary session of our offer and proposals.As the main opposition party in Las Torres de Cotillas, backed at the polls by 3,263 residents, the PP has offered the socialist mayor, day by day, large doses of dialogue, collaboration, and continuous wishes to lean on the shoulder for the good of the people.
And we will continue doing it. To date and since the very beginning of this legislature, the PP Torreño has encountered a colossal wall, the constant refusal of the PSOE and Ciudadanos, the current rulers of the municipality, to agree with the opposition solutions for, for example now, get the town out of the large-scale crisis that Covid-19 has brought.The PP of Las Torres de Cotillas considers that reaching an understanding is not saying yes to everything without being able to enrich and improve a proposal with dialogue.
The priority is to give support to the families that need it, reinforce the attention of the Social Services and reactivate the economic and productive activity of the municipality, helping SMEs, merchants, self-employed, we repeat. That outstretched hand of the PP has not been accepted by the PSOE-Citizens Government Team throughout this year of the legislature.
Quite the contrary, socialists and "oranges" have blocked our offers and contributions one day and another day, at all times, in every plenary session.
The PSOE-Citizens Government Team has rejected, without strong arguments, what the PP wants to offer because it is the good of our municipality and the common good of its neighbors.Draft measures during these last 12 months for the benefit of the torreños, positive initiatives for the town have been rejected by the city council, who curses Joaquín Vela, a socialist mayor absent from reality and from the problems affecting Las Torres de Cotillas.The main objective that moves the PP is based on real proposals to real problems of the neighbors.
Opportunities to get ahead and more in these complex times. A year of legislature has already passed in which the PP of Las Torres de Cotillas has not lowered in any moment its pace of commitment to improve the municipality, nor its responsibility to fulfill the trust that thousands of neighbors have deposited in this Party with a experience of municipal government backed by 20 years that has placed the town among the most advanced, modern and prosperous in the Region of Murcia.With this balance and purpose we continue: putting Las Torres de Cotillas above partisan interests, working with humility and closeness to neighbors, continuing to defend the aspirations of citizens, continuing to respond to their needs, being faithful to achieve their right to a decent quality of life.In the PP of Las Torres de Cotillas our road map is clear and determined: make a constructive, loyal but not submissive and silenced opposition.We will raise our voices to what we consider to be not good for Las Torres de Cotillas.
They are not going to excuse us or shut us up, much less marginalize us. Faced with intolerance and the imperfect dictatorship that the PSOE-Citizens Government Team wants to build in the municipality, faced with the lack of pulse, strategy and leadership of socialists and "oranges", PP Torreño is at the forefront of the will of do things well and take on the task of looking for and giving solutions to the neighbors.The PP complies and responds for what most unites us: the 21,471 torreños and torreñas.
