| The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Joaquín Vela Fernández, affirms that this project ensures smooth traffic and at the same time, guarantees the safety of everyone at this point in the municipality | The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas has approved the project to speed up traffic through a gazebo in the vicinity of the Health Center. As the Torreño mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, explains, the implementation of this gazebo will be on Avenida Reyes Católicos, at its junction with Calderón de la Barca, Cánovas del Castillo and Parque de Las Palmeras streets. In addition, the signage in the adjacent area will be adapted to reorder traffic in the area, which implies the suppression of traffic lights at junctions attached to the projected roundabout. "We thus want to ensure smooth traffic and at the same time guarantee the safety of everyone at this point in the municipality." These works "serve to provide continuity and integrity to the accessible pedestrian route in the transition between the sidewalk and the crosswalk," he says. The area was visited by the first mayor, accompanied by Marian Fernández Fernández, councilor for Maintenance of the city, and the councilor for Urban Mobility, Francisco Caravaca Bravo, who points out that "this project is linked to the pedestrianization work on the street Bartolomé Ródenas, one of the most emblematic roads in the urban center of the municipality, located next to the Parque de la Constitución, which the residents have been able to see first hand. The entire environment will see renewed public lighting, through the use of more efficient and environmentally friendly luminaires.

The term of execution of the works will be 6 months, with a total municipal budget of 83,438.93 euros. Planned at EDUSI This project is included in the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) "Las Torres Conecta".

Specifically, in the line of action of the development of sustainable urban mobility and connection with districts and industrial areas, covering other thematic objectives such as achieving a cleaner and more sustainable economy. The EDUSI Torreña has a total amount of 6,250,000 euros for investments in the municipality, of which 80% is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (Feder), through the 2014-2020 Multi-regional Operational Program of Spain, while 1,250,000 euros are from a municipal contribution.
