| The work meetings between the consulting company awarded the project and the team appointed with municipal staff and the EDUSI management company have already begun | The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas continues to advance in the different lines of work of its Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) "Las Torres Conecta".
For this reason, last Friday, October 2, a meeting was held in the Torreño Consistory to launch the service contract for the preparation of the "Smart City Master Plan".
"The foundations have been laid for this project that is moving towards the smart city and the guidelines have been set for the company to start the corresponding works," says the Councilor for European Projects, Francisco Jesús López Manzanera, who chaired this meeting. Also participating in this meeting were members of the awardee consulting company and City Council staff working on its execution, as well as the technical assistance company for the management of EDUSI.
"This action is framed in line 1 of this strategy and is called" Las Torres on the way to the Smart City.
Development of actions necessary to classify the city as Smart City ", reports the Councilor for New Technologies, Rafael Martínez García, also present at the meeting. For a smart city "The objective is to create a smart city, where information and communication technologies (ICT) are applied to achieve infrastructures that provide a better quality of neighborhood life, sustainable development, active citizen participation and more effective resources", says the Torreño mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández. The EDUSI Torreña has a total amount of 6,250,000 euros for investments in the municipality, of which 80% is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (Feder), through the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020, while 1,250,000 euros are of municipal contribution.
