| They achieved third place in the Spanish championship played this weekend in the Almeria town of Mojácar | The petanque club La Salceda de Las Torres de Cotillas won a new national medal, after the third place for its women's team in the Spanish triplet championship held in Mojácar (Almería).
The group formed by Silvia Soriano, María Encarnación Alcolea, Dolores García and María Isabel Bosque took bronze in a tournament where 32 teams from all over the country gathered. After a first phase with five games in which they added three victories, the torreñas went to the next direct elimination round among the top 16.
After eliminating a team from Alicante in the round of 16 and the Balearic Islands - 2019 winners - in the quarterfinals, they fell in the semifinals against the Catalans who were ultimately runners-up. "This club is synonymous with victory, because wherever they go they get great results.
A long history of regional and national medals supports them, all the result of their quality and their effort", highlights the Councilor for Health and Sports, Verónica Morcillo De Tower.
