This event was held on Saturday October 10 at the Mireia Belmonte municipal pavilion in Las Torres de Cotillas, where the locals hung a total of 10 medals in the different categories. Gold were José Belmonte (individual D), Irene Sánchez (individual A1-A2), Ángel Rodríguez (doubles A1-A2), Manuel Berrocal and Antonio Brao (doubles B1), Cándido Osorio (doubles D-SV +) and Miguel Vaz (doubles mixed C1-C2).
For their part, there were three players who repeated the podium, although this time to take the silver: Cándido Osorio (individual D), José Belmonte and Miguel Vaz (doubles C1-C2). More than 70 players The tournament, organized by the badminton section of the Las Torres Athletics club with the support of the FESBA and the Torreña Department of Health and Sports, had more than 70 players from 29 clubs throughout Spain (Granada, Seville, Albacete, Madrid, Asturias, Catalonia, Valencia ...), as well as a dozen foreign players (Great Britain, France, Denmark and Scotland). It was the fifth time that Las Torres de Cotillas hosted this tournament, although this year it was played without an audience due to the anti-COVID measures.
A strict protocol that also contemplated other regulations such as the use of a mask until the track, safety distances, access control by Civil Protection ... The mayor of Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández, and the Councilor for Health and Sports, Verónica Morcillo De La Torre, together with the president of the Torreño club, Cándido Osorio, attended the delivery of medals for this tournament that scored for the senior national ranking.
A circuit that consists in the 2020 season only of two previous tests (that of Las Torres de Cotillas and another in Barcelona) to the senior Spanish championship, which will be determined by the participants in this event to be held in December in Gijón.
