The proceedings began when the Benemérita received a notice about an alleged family conflict in a house in Las Torres de Cotillas.
A Citizen Security Prevention patrol traveled to the place and found that the door of the house had been broken and its resident was very nervous. Suspecting that it could be a drug theft, popularly known as 'overturning', or an adjustment of accounts, with the prior authorization of the resident, the Civil Guards carried out an inspection of the property to verify that there was no one inside. On the upper floor of the building there were two rooms joined after pulling down a partition that were dedicated to the intensive cultivation of marijuana, which at that moment had about a hundred cannabis plants and all the necessary devices to provide lighting, irrigation, heating and ventilation to the clandestine greenhouse, as well as extractors with carbon air filters to prevent the characteristic smell of marijuana from going outside. After apprehending the drug and seizing all the devices associated with its illicit cultivation, the Civil Guard detained the resident of the house as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, for cultivation or production of drugs, and of the crime of fraud of electricity.

It was also verified that the now arrested had occupied the house without authorization for a few months. The 27-year-old Spanish detainee, a resident of Las Torres de Cotillas and with a history of similar crimes, the drug seized, the effects seized and the proceedings carried out have been made available to the Investigating Court of Molina de Segura (Murcia).
