| Next Tuesday, November 10 (19 hours) Ricardo Montes will offer a lecture via streaming for schoolchildren from five centers in the locality | Next Tuesday, November 10 (7:00 p.m.) the official chronicler of Las Torres de Cotillas, Ricardo Montes, will offer an online conference on the history and customs of the town.
The recipients will be 3rd and 4th ESO students from a total of five centers: La Florida and Salvador Sandoval IES, and Susarte, Divino Maestro and Monteazahar schools.Montes, doctor in Archeology and Ancient History, will focus on specific aspects of the history of the municipality, from its foundation in 1318, in Qutiyyas la Antigua -now the San Pedro neighborhood-, to its transfer to the place it currently occupies.
Other topics that will be discussed will be the importance of growing the vine for wine, religious aspects, families linked to the town, such as the Marquis of Corvera or the D'Estoup family, independence, education ..."Our young people must know the origins of their town, where we come from, what has been relevant in our history, to better understand what Las Torres de Cotillas is today," says the Councilor for Education, Rafael Martínez García, whose area organizes the talk in collaboration with the centers.
"And new technologies offer us, in these difficult times of pandemic, this opportunity to do it without health risks," he says.
