In it, the 47 victims (41 women and 6 children) who have lost their lives so far in 2020 due to this social scourge have been remembered.
"47 chairs have been arranged, reserved for those murdered women and children, in which their age and place of residence could be read," explains the Councilor for Equality, Elisa Isabel Hurtado Avilés. In addition, the Torreño mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, has read a manifesto of awareness before municipal authorities, City Council workers and residents of the municipality.
"The commitment of Las Torres de Cotillas against gender violence is very strong and is maintained every day of the year, not only on November 25.
This is a special day to make the fight against this great problem visible, but against it we fight every day ", emphasizes the mayor.
