The councilors of the Torreño Popular Party Amalia Pérez, Manuel García and Francisco José Torres have participated at noon this Tuesday in the minute of silence that the Local Corporation, municipal workers and neighbors in general have kept in the Adolfo Suárez square of the population, in front of the Town Hall in memory of the victims of gender violence, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. With this institutional presence, the PP of Las Torres de Cotillas stands against a social scourge that affects all women regardless of age, race, social origin or country of birth. This is a day, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, in which from the Popular Party of Las Torres de Cotillas, a party in which we believe and fight to improve the situation of women, we want to express our greatest and more energetic rejection against any type of violence against women and we defend the union in this fight, which does not understand ideologies and must be faced from the consensus.
Nobody should appropriate it or any ideology legitimates more than another for it.We want to remember on this day all the victims, their families and all those women who currently suffer this type of violence.
Our special memory for the victims who have been murdered during this difficult year, in which violence has continued to be present in the lives of many of them, and for the minors, victims of violence against their mothers.
Violence has multiple forms and our society has the duty to protect and protect women.Gender violence exists and from the Popular Party of Las Torres de Cotillas we have always believed that this type of violence needs a clear and energetic response. It should be remembered that our governments promoted the first measures to protect women from domestic violence with the approval of the Protection Order (LO 27/2003 of July 31).
It was also from a Government of the Popular Party that a State Pact against Gender Violence was carried out, which included both measures and additional financing for it, the latter of vital necessity for the success of the implementation of the same. Also from the previous municipal government of Las Torres de Cotillas, chaired by the PP, the current CAVI and a wide deployment of programs, services and endowments to support victims of domestic violence were launched. Today we want to affirm and send a message of optimism to all those women who suffer or have suffered gender violence.
You are not alone and from the consensus and commitment of all the forces and estates of our society we will continue fighting so that we can eradicate this scourge.
