The Department of Neighborhoods and Pedanías has called a contest for domestic Christmas nativity scenes, to which any family registered in the municipality can participate.
"This year we want to reinforce the Christmas spirit even more if possible and reward the imagination, enthusiasm and skill of our neighbors by installing their nativity scenes, since some are really spectacular," explains the first deputy mayor and councilor of the area, Marian Fernández Fernandez. The nativity scenes can be of any size and made with any material, although the use of recycled materials, plant elements, articulated figures, special effects, music ...
Registration is free and can be done until December 16 by email consuelo.b@lastorresdecotillas.es. Three awards For this contest, three prizes have been established, all of them purchase vouchers to be spent before January 31, 2021 in a minimum of three stores belonging to the "Las Torres Commercial Area": ??300 euros for the winner, 200 euros for the second and 150 euros for the third.
The jury will visit the participating nativity scenes on December 18, keeping all security measures. "It is a very beautiful initiative, in which aspects as important as originality and artistic richness, the recovery of the traditional nativity scene, or the effort and diligence in the execution will be valued", highlights Torreño mayor Joaquín Vela Fernández.
