On the morning of Thursday 17 June, the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, the director general of Sport Regional Government, Antonio Peñalver, and council Torreño of Education, Pedro Cabrera, and Urban, Yolanda Muñoz, proceeded to the official placement of the foundation stone of the new sports hall of the Secondary School (IES) "Salvador Sandoval" Torreño municipality.
The works of these facilities, which have a lead time of 18 months, will involve a total investment of more than 817,000 euros, of which 350,000 euros will come from a grant from the Regional Government.
The sports center will rise on a plot of over 2,300 m2 extension and the project is being coordinated by the departments of Urban and Sports Torrena.
Thus, the new sports hall will house a large indoor gym, and a track ready to practice different sports such as badminton, handball, football, volleyball, basketball and mini-basketball.
Also, the facility will, among other agencies, with an entrance hall, two changing rooms for pupils and two teachers, a room for facilities designed to store fourth quarter and cleaning.
