The Department of Culture has organized the program and activities of March, which will have the major role designed to celebrate "Women's Day", which is commemorated every year on 8 March.
The first will take place tomorrow, Friday, March 4 (20:30 pm) and will be the award ceremony of the "VII International Poetry Contest Carmen Montero Medina", organized by the homonymous Foundation and the Department of Culture Torrena.
The winning work will receive 800 euro bonus for an evening that will take place in the House of Culture "Pedro Serna" and to assist the area councilor, Isabel Maria Zapata.
On Sunday, March 6 (19 hours) the "Frustrated" play, Peace Martinez, also in the local House of Culture and organized by the Department of Equality will be represented.
Inspired in order to reclaim the space that contemporary women should occupy in our society, this representation will celebrate the "Day of Women".
Already on Friday March 11 (20:30 pm) the "Acultamar" association Torreño pay tribute to poet Jose Martinez, known in the village as "Lali".
It will be at the House of Culture "Pedro Serna" and this tribute is to recognize his own career.
Plays and poems
On Saturday 12 March the Association of Senegalese Women Cotillas Towers (AMSET) will present "African Women for Equality", an event to be held from 9 to 18 hours in the House of Culture "Pedro Serna".
Participants will occupy much of the day with interesting activities such as cinema, theater, dance, gastronomy, etc.
In the afternoon (20:30 pm) will take place the proclamation of Easter Torrena at Our Lady Church Salceda, which will be borne by Pedro Cabrera.
To conclude the week, in the House of Culture Torrena Sunday 13 March (19 hours) the amateur group "Tejuba" will stage a year the play "The Arrest".
A sacramental representing the passion, death and resurrection of Christ, and is interpreted in the municipality in a century and a half.
To end the activities of this month, on Thursday March 17 (20:30 pm) Literary Association "Las Torres" will recite a book of poems of passion in the House of Culture "Pedro Serna" within their usual "Literary Thursday".
