The work of the new canine unit of the local police in Las Torres de Cotillas, which has been running since early this year, is beginning to bear fruit with various performances on public roads.
This unit, which is dedicated to the control and eradication of consumption and trafficking of drugs in the municipality, has already made 13 minutes of finding and has processed a total of 10 complaints.
"With this new unit, which is having a great acceptance in our town, we offer citizens a more complete service yet," explains Councillor for Citizen Security, Angel Gonzalez.
This newly created service, the first in the Region of Murcia, has two dogs.
On the one hand, "Osa", a Labrador retriever female 13-month start-up phase and on the other, "Dante", a male 3 year old Dutch Shepherd undergoing training and development (provided by the Canine Unit Cieza) .

In addition, the agents of this unit -in collaboration with the "Agent Tutor" program - have been giving talks at schools and colleges of the city, where they released their service and exhibits have made detection of narcotics.
