So they are called dogs that Torreño Tomas Ruiz recently proclaimed runner-up of Spain in the championship sprint mushing in snow played in Baqueira Beret.
Ruiz, who already was champion of Spain of this sport, won silver in the category SP6 (sled with six dogs) of this championship organized by the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI) with temperatures reaching 10 degrees below zero.
Ruiz, who lives in Nava Campaign (Hellín) and technical mountaineering, was champion in 2014 in the Cantabrian town of Polientes and was runner-up last November in Covarrubias (Burgos).
And all this despite being self-taught in this sport, both driving and vehicle construction.
"I started with two dogs, now the kid myself and work with them for eight hours a day," Ruiz says.
"I bought a bicycle as a child and I was changing, and I'm still learning driving every day, especially in the sled, which does not address," he says.
It has nine dogs, five males and four females alaskana race, and has kennels, shooting equipment, a trailer, and vehicles training and competition (a tricycle and a sleigh).
And Thomas not to: their next competitions will be a career in Hellín on 17 January, the Championship of Spain in snow (Baqueira in March) and the European 2016 to be held in England, and in November.
