On Friday 22 April the Department of Culture Cotillas Towers held the gala awards ceremony of the literary contest "Young Talents Award-Salvador Sandoval."
It was in the House of Culture "Pedro Serna" in the town and this evening, chaired by the mayor, Domingo Coronado, and Councillor for Culture, Maria Isabel Zapata the best poems and short stories of the youngest authors rewarded the municipality with the school "Divine Master" as a big winner.
In mode A of poems (for 4th of ESO, Baccalaureate and training cycles) the winner was Nuria Contreras (school "Divine Master"), a prize of 130 euros and diploma was for his work "Dear Mom".
In mode B (1st, 2nd and 3rd of ESO) the winner was Francisco Javier Sanchez (school "Divine Master"), whose piece "The life of a poet" earned him a prize of 80 euros and a diploma.
In the category of the best stories in mode B was Maria Vicente (school "Divine Master"), with "Missing", a narrative won her a prize of 130 euros and diploma.
As for mode A the prize was deserted by the lack of jobs to evaluate
To round off the evening, he paid tribute to poet Ruben Dario on the centenary of his death by reading a selection of his work.
